A married love

Random word: Honey
I call 'Honey', and she ignores my plea
as her past replays hard distant voices –
echoes that prick and bleed, nightmare forces
to tear and tug away her melody.
Breakfast was once love, now cool clemency
reigns, with burnt toast welcome as winter sun.
But temptation still leaves a charlatan
to tear and tug away her melody.
Yet life's song made her my celebrity,
a star of silver screen from the first sight.
So I dream of life starved of appetite
to tear and tug away her melody –
a time of love, without adultery
to tear and tug away her melody.

  1. You got particularly poetic with this one. It almost wants to be sung.
